‘The Simpsons’ Promo Takes Big Swipe at Trump as Homer Goes to Vote

“Dad, by all that’s decent how could you forget all that’s happened in the last four years?!”

That’s what Lisa Simpson asks her father, Homer, in a new promo that’s been released for The Simpsons‘ next ‘Treehouse of Horror’ episode. Going all-in politically, the teaser finds Homer at a polling booth, wondering who it is he should vote for.

“Can I write in Judge Judy?” Homer asks aloud. Lisa interjects, reminding him of the four years that have been under the Trump administration. Cue a scrolling list of Trump moves, from pulling the U.S. out of the Climate Agreement, to “calling White Supremacists ‘fine people,'” to “imitating a disabled reporter.”

It’s not clear who exactly Homer votes for, although it’s safe to assume Trump wasn’t his choice. “Pfft, who you gonna make fun of now late-night comics?” Homer laughs.

“Treehouse of Horror XXXI” will be premiering on Fox on October 18th.  Logline and images below.

The 31st annual Simpsons Halloween special includes a frightening look at the 2020 election, parodies of Pixar and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and a ninth birthday Lisa just can’t get over.
