Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, a prequel series returning to the world of Jack Carr’s military thriller. Taylor Kitsch takes the lead as Ben Edwards, exploring the character’s early transition from Navy SEAL to CIA operative. Chris Pratt also returns as James Reece, though the focus here is firmly on Ben’s origins.

Ben Edwards before the list
Set before the events of The Terminal List, Dark Wolf opens with Ben’s SEAL career ending and his entry into the CIA’s Special Operations division. He’s a controversial recruit—his reputation as volatile precedes him—and not everyone on his new team is thrilled. As the mission unfolds, the grey areas widen. What starts as a counterterrorism assignment becomes something messier, and the line between duty and damage control begins to blur.
The trailer offers a glimpse of the friction ahead, including a key exchange between Tom Hopper’s Lieutenant Raife Hastings and Kitsch’s Ben Edwards. “No matter what the rules, you have to remember we’re not the players here. We’re just pieces on the board,” Hastings says. Ben responds, “Even a pawn can take down a king.”
Cast and creators behind the prequel
The series also stars Luke Hemsworth, Robert Wisdom, Dar Salim, Rona-Lee Shimon, Shiraz Tzarfati, Jared Shaw, and Mia Salinas. Created by Carr and returning showrunner David DiGilio, Dark Wolf continues the franchise’s use of real-world veterans across production, writing, and consulting roles. Frederick E.O. Toye directs the pilot and serves as executive producer alongside Kitsch, DiGilio, Carr, Pratt, Jared Shaw, Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick, and Max Adams.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf premieres on Prime Video on August 27, with the first three episodes. New episodes will follow weekly, leading to the finale on September 24.
