James Reece has seen better days. Prime Video has released the first-look images from The Terminal List season 2, with Chris Pratt‘s returning operator looking gaunt, heavily bearded and thoroughly put through the wringer. The new shots (above and below) also bring Gabriel Luna’s Freddy Strain into the action and reunite Reece with several familiar faces as the hit thriller prepares to go much bigger for its second chapter.
The image above finds Reece looking particularly depleted, while in other images he’s firmly back in operator mode, including alongside Luna’s Strain as the pair undertake sniper training.
Tom Hopper’s Raife Hastings, Dar Salim’s Mohammed Farooq, Constance Wu’s Katie Buranek and Luke Hemsworth’s Jules Landry are among the other characters featured.

And as it turns out, Pratt wasn’t simply acting exhausted. Speaking with USA Today, the star revealed that production came with a particularly nasty real-life health battle.
“Through all the boat scenes I was battling E. coli and something called tick bite fever that I had gotten in Africa,” Pratt said.
Pratt continued filming while dealing with both conditions, which certainly adds some uncomfortable context to the sight of a battered Reece. “Much of that look is from a stomach bug,” he added. “There were nights I was sweating through my mattress with fever and sickness.”
The actor’s rough appearance also fits where season 2 finds the character, physically depleted after being lost at sea before circumstances drag him into another increasingly dangerous mission.
James Reece Is Going Global
Season 2 is based on True Believer, the second novel in author Jack Carr’s bestselling series, and picks up with Reece searching for a new purpose after completing the kill list that drove the first season. If season 1 was an intensely personal revenge story, the follow-up is giving him a considerably larger playground to tear through.
What begins as a journey of redemption expands into a globe-trotting espionage thriller spanning the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Reece eventually uncovers a conspiracy reaching from Moscow to Langley, with the mystery also tying into his own family’s history.
The shift in scale is one of the biggest changes for the series. Reece isn’t simply hunting down the people responsible for destroying his life this time. He’s being pulled into something international, political and considerably messier, with allies and enemies spread across continents.
Dark Wolf Faces Enter Reece’s Story
Season 2 also brings the expanding Terminal List universe together. Hopper’s Hastings, Salim’s Farooq and Hemsworth’s Landry all appeared in prequel series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, and they’ll now cross into Reece’s present-day story.
Luna joins the flagship series as Freddy Strain, a former SEAL who works with the CIA’s Ground Branch, while Wu returns as journalist Katie Buranek. The expanded international cast also includes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo and Shiraz Tzarfati.
David DiGilio returns as showrunner and executive produces alongside Pratt, Carr, Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick, Max Adams and Jared Shaw. The production is again putting military experience behind the camera as well as in front of it, with veterans working as writers, actors, technical advisers and directors. Former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, who co-directed Warfare, is among the directors involved.
Amazon says the wider Terminal List franchise has now accumulated more than 100 million viewers worldwide.
The Terminal List Season 2 Release Date
The Terminal List season 2 premieres globally on Prime Video on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with all eight episodes dropping at once.
