Full ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 Trailer: Chris Pratt’s James Reece Faces a Threat He May Have Helped Create

Chris Pratt‘s James Reece is heading back into the fight in the official trailer for Prime Video‘s The Terminal List season 2. The new footage finds the former Navy SEAL pulled into another dangerous mission as old connections, new threats and plenty of unfinished business close in. Watch the trailer above and get the details below.

Reece Has Nothing Left to Lose

Following the first season 2 teaser, the new trailer digs further into just how broken Reece is when this next mission finds him. Memories and visions of his wife, daughter and fallen brothers continue to tear through his head, while he’s also given a blunt reminder of his deteriorating condition: “You’re dying, James.”

Reece, though, appears to have reached the point where hiding doesn’t hold much appeal. “I’m done running,” he says.

A series of attacks has intelligence officials worried that a larger organisation is funding and arming operations around the globe. And when someone points out that Reece spent his career “putting terrorists in the dirt”, the fugitive former operator suddenly looks very useful again.

That’s where Freddy Strain, played by Gabriel Luna, comes in, pressing him about Mohammed “Mo” Farooq and making an offer that’s difficult to ignore. “He perpetrated an attack using skills that he learned from us. More specifically from you,” Strain tells him. “You come with me, we find Mo. The president is willing to grant you a full pardon for your crimes and give you your life back.”

Farooq’s involvement gives the season another major connection to The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. Played by Dar Salim, Mo was among the characters introduced in the prequel series, and the official trailer now puts him directly in Reece’s sights.

The trailer also brings several other Dark Wolf characters into the present-day story. Tom Hopper returns as Raife Hastings and Luke Hemsworth is back as Jules Landry, while Constance Wu reprises her role as journalist Katie Buranek.

“Brother, all of us caught up in the same thing. Mo, Katie, and Landry. Starting to sound like the common thread is you,” Raife tells Reece. Whatever’s unfolding, Reece appears to be sitting right at the centre of it.

And even though Taylor Kitsch’s Ben Edwards isn’t exactly available to lend a hand after the events of season 1, Reece certainly hasn’t escaped him. Ben continues to linger in his fractured state of mind, joining Reece’s dead family and comrades among the ghosts he can’t seem to shake.

The expanded international cast also includes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, Jeremy Bobb and Shiraz Tzarfati.

From Revenge Thriller to Global Espionage

Season 2 adapts True Believer, the second novel in author Jack Carr’s James Reece series, and dramatically expands the playing field. Season 1 was built around one man’s intensely personal campaign of revenge. This time, the story sends him into a much larger intelligence operation spanning the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

At the centre of it all is a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley, with the mystery eventually reaching into Reece’s own family history.

Pratt, who also serves as an executive producer, says the new season was made as a tribute to the real-world special operations community.

“This season is a love letter to the special operations community. I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen. It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame. Yes, it’s an action thriller, but there’s also real beauty and poetry in it. At its heart, this season is dedicated to the men and women who do this work—the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition. We wanted to honor them and get it right. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made.”

Military Veterans Remain Heavily Involved Behind the Scenes

That emphasis on authenticity continues behind the camera. Executive producer and former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and executive producer and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and authenticity work, with military veterans also involved as writers, actors, technical advisers and directors.

Among them is former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, co-director of Warfare, who steps behind the camera this season.

David DiGilio returns as writer and showrunner and executive produces alongside Pratt, Carr, Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick, Adams and Shaw. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC and Civic Center Media.

Prime Video says The Terminal List franchise has now accumulated more than 100 million viewers worldwide.
