‘The Wild Robot’ Trailer: Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal & More Voice Gorgeous-Looking DreamWorks Animation

A captivating new trailer has just been released for The Wild Robot, a visually stunning and emotional-looking CG-animated film from DreamWorks Animation. Take a look above.

This much-anticipated adaptation of Peter Brown’s critically acclaimed and award-winning novel brings to life the enchanting journey of a robot, a ROZZUM unit 7134 known as Roz, who finds herself stranded on a deserted island. To survive, Roz must adapt to her new, harsh environment, forging unlikely friendships with the island’s wildlife and eventually becoming the adoptive mother of an orphaned gosling.

The star-studded voice cast features  Lupita Nyong’o (Us, the Black Panther franchise) as Roz, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian) as Fink the fox, Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) as Pinktail the opossum, Bill Nighy (Living, Love Actually) as Longneck the goose, Kit Connor (Heartstopper, Rocketman) as Brightbill the gosling, and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fall Guy) as Vontra, a fellow robot impacting Roz’s island life. Plus, Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), and Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible films).

The film is written and directed by three-time Oscar nominee Chris Sanders, known for his work on How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and Lilo & Stitch. Producer is Jeff Hermann, renowned for his contributions to The Boss Baby 2: Family Business and the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

The original book by Peter Brown, first published in 2016, quickly soared to the top of the New York Times bestseller list and has since expanded into a beloved trilogy, including The Wild Robot Escapes and The Wild Robot Protects.

The Wild Robot will be in Australian cinemas on September 19th and US cinemas on September 27th.
