Take a look at the trailer that’s arrived for The Willoughbys, a wonderful-looking CG-animated film heading to Netflix in April.

Based on the children’s book by Lois Lowry, the film tells of how the children in the Willoughby family have enough of their selfish, utterly neglectful parents and decide to send them on a dangerous trip they may not come home from (yep!). Now, these kids will find out of they can really raise themselves in this big contemporary world.

Some gorgeous animation and humour with some bite on display in this potentially winning family film, which has a voice cast that includes Ricky Gervais, Maya Rudolph, Will Forte, Martin Short, Alessia Cara and Jane Krakowski. The film is directed by Kris Pearn, co-director of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and co-directed by Rob Lodermeier, lead animator on Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The Willoughbys will be hitting Netflix on April 22.
