Dano stars as Vadim Baranov, a young Russian filmmaker who unexpectedly becomes an adviser to the former KGB agent destined to take control of the country. What begins as a partnership built around propaganda, manufactured realities and political manipulation gradually descends into corruption, violence, tyranny and war. As Baranov moves deeper into the Kremlin’s inner circle, he helps shape the image of a new Russia while increasingly blurring the boundaries between truth, performance and power. The cast includes Alicia Vikander and Tom Sturridge.
