‘Thunder Force’ Trailer: Melissa McCarthy & Octavia Spencer Become Superheroes in Netflix Comedy

The trailer has arrived for Thunder Force, Netflix‘s upcoming superhero comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer.

The plot takes place in a world where supervillains are commonplace and follows two estranged childhood friends (McCarthy and Spencer) whose lives are turned upside down when they take a treatment designed to give ordinary people superpowers. McCarthy’s Lydia gets super strength and Spencer’s Emily gets the ability to turn invisible.

This marks McCarthy’s fifth comedy with writer-director and her real-life husband Ben Falcone, who was also at the helm of Tammy, The Boss, Life of the Party and last year’s Superintelligence.

Also starring Bobby Cannavale (as the film’s villain, The King), Pom Klementieff, Kevin Dunn, Melissa Leo, and Jason Bateman (who shows off a pair of claws in the trailer below), Thunder Force will be on Netflix from April 9th.
