A new trailer has dropped for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, this one with Michelangelo introducing us to the family of anthropomorphic turtles.
The sequel to 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which pulled in an impressive $US493.3 million worldwide, sees our turtles taking on an array of threats, including Shredder (Brian Tee), mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry), Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams), Rocksteady (Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), and a malicious alien, Krang (voiced by Fred Armisen).
While the first film didn’t exactly ace it with the critics, it does have its fans. Chances are we’re in for something in the same vein here, albeit bigger in plot and in the visual effects department. Fingers crossed new director Dave Green (Earth to Echo) saw what didn’t work with the first film and goes about putting the growing franchise on an even better path.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, also starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, William Fichtner, Tyler Perry, Laura Linney and Alessandra Ambrosio, hits the U.S. on June 3 and Australia on June 9.
Synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows:
Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
