“It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate.”

That’s what Tom Holland captioned on social media with an image of himself in-character as video game badass Nathan Drake. The image was taken on the set of highly-anticipated video game movie Uncharted.

They’ve got the look pretty down-pat, sporting a weathered tan-coloured shirt and cargo pants. He’s even got what appears to be a bit of a wound on his right arm – and with that setting, it’s clear the adventurer’s been through some action here.

The official Twitter account of video game developer Naughty Dog also released a set image, this one showing Holland with Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake voice/motion-capture actor Nolan North. “Find someone who looks at you like Nate looks at Nate,” they captioned the image.

Sony dropped a further two images: an open book with a depiction of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who circumnavigated the globe during a Spanish expedition to the East Indies in the 1500s, and what appears to be a key-like artifact/treasure.

The Uncharted movie will be a prequel to the games, with Holland playing a younger version of the risk-lovin’ treasure seeker and Mark Wahlberg on board as a younger Sully, who becomes Nate’s longtime friend and even father figure later on.

Directed by Zombieland and Venom helmer Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted is currently scheduled to hit Australian cinemas on July 15 and US cinemas on July 16, 2021.
