Season 2 of the animated series picks up with Lara Croft on the trail of a string of stolen African Orisha masks — relics tied to legends, buried history, and power that may be far more than myth. When the investigation leads her across continents, she joins forces with her estranged best friend, Sam Nishimura (voiced by Karen Fukuhara), whose return marks a major emotional thread for this final chapter. As the clues point to divine forces and a danger capable of reshaping the world, Lara and Sam are drawn deeper into Orisha lore and the dark secrets the masks carry.

Set in the continuity of Crystal Dynamics’ 2013 video-game reboot, the animated series has served as a bridge between that trilogy’s ending and the franchise’s future. With this being the second and final season, the show acts as a proper epilogue to the story arc that began over a decade ago — closing out the era that redefined Lara Croft for a new generation.
For longtime players, season 2’s focus on Lara and Sam brings the narrative full circle, especially given Sam’s central role in the 2013 game and her absence from later entries.

The Legend of Lara Croft is written and executive produced by Tasha Huo, with additional executive producers including Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg of Story Kitchen, Jacob Robinson under Tractor Pants, Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes for Crystal Dynamics, and Jen Chambers. Powerhouse Animation returns as the animation studio, with Brad Graeber also on board as executive producer.
