Sony Pictures have just released an amusing new trailer for 22 Jump Street, the sequel to the hit reboot starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have simply aced it since they burst onto the scene with Cloud With a Chance of Meatballs. Since then, they’ve directed 21 Jump Street, the pilot episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and the huge hit that is The Lego Movie. They’re definitely a forced to be reckoned with, not only proving themselves in different mediums, but with different audiences as well. The R-rated (U.S. classification) 22 Jump Street should be a massive hit, since it looks like it follows the same, successful construct of the first film. Hill and Tatum go undercover again, but this time, these “two sons-of-bitches, are going to college.”
Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Amber Stevens, Jillian Bell, and Craig Roberts also star.
Official synopsis for 22 Jump Street:
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
