A clip from Transformers: The Last Knight shown during the recent Kids’ Choice Awards has been released online.

The scene from Michael Bay’s fifth Transformers film gives us a look at the troubling dystopian future the world has descended into in the series. We’re introduced to young Izabella (played by Nickelodeon alum Isabela Moner), who’s on the run with a group of other kids from a dangerous-looking robot. Luckily for them, an autobot that has seen better days – apparently named Canopy, according to Transformers fans online – quite literally has them covered.

Mark Wahlberg reprises his role as Cade Yeager in the picture, which also stars Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, Gemma Chan, John Goodman, John Turturro, Stanley Tucci and Laura Haddock. The film opens in Australia on June 22 and hits the US on June 23.

Synopsis for Transformers: The Last Knight:

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
