The first official trailer has been released for Transformers: The Last Knight, Michael Bay’s fifth round in the franchise he kicked off around nine years ago.

The narrative seems to be more ambitious this time around, as we delve deeper into the Transformers mythology – with flashbacks to the medieval days of King Arthur – and we get more of Optimus Prime’s mission to confront The Creators. The latter doesn’t seem to be going as planned. As the trailer below shows, Bumblebee may not do too well when Prime mysteriously goes on the attack.

We’re also given snippets of a few new faces, including Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner’s Izabella. Returning cast members include Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lt. Colonel William Lennox, Stanley Tucci as Joshua Joyce and John Turturro as Agent Simmons.

Transformers: The Last Knight will arrive in Australia on June 22 and opens in the US on June 23, 2017.
