A Super Bowl ad has been released for Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth entry in the Michael Bay-directed franchise.
Surely by now you know what to expect from a Transformers film with Bay behind the lens. If you’ve been a fan of the series thus far, get ready for more of that good stuff. The usual order of explosions and slo-mo shots are on offer in the next chapter, which opens up the hidden history of Transformers on Earth and, by the looks of things, finds Optimus Prime returning in a not-so-nice capacity.
Mark Wahlberg reprises his role as Cade Yeager, leading a cast that includes Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Hopkins, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin.
Transformers: The Last Knight will open in Australia on June 22 and hits the US on June 23.
Official synopsis for Transformers: The Last Knight:
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
