Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars, the fifth film in the vampire action franchise.
Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as Selene, who is here up against both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. Selene teams up with David (Theo James) and her father Thomas (Charles Dances) in an attempt to stop the eternal war.
Considering we’re five movies in, it’s fair to say that this one could be more for the established fans. As with Milla Jovovich’s Resident Evil franchise, this one seems like it’s been going on and on, but that’s not to say some of the slick action hasn’t offered up any fun. Now, whether the plot and the this film’s dramatic elements work to makes us really care about what’s going this time around remains to be seen.
Underworld: Blood Wars, also starring Tobias Menzies, Lara Pulver, James Faulkner, Peter Andersson, Bradley James, Daisy Head, and Clementine Nicholson, will open in Australia on December 1 and hits the U.S. on January 6, 2017.
