Netflix Cancels ‘V-Wars’ and ‘October Faction’ After One Season Each

Days after the cancellation of Messiah, it’s been announced that Netflix shows V-Wars and October Faction have also been scrapped.

Netflix has decided that the two comic adaptation shows will not be receiving follow-ups following their one-season runs. V-Wars landed on December 5 and October Faction on January 23. Both were based on titles from comic book publisher IDW Publishing.

While Netflix is notoriously tight-lipped about their viewer numbers, as THR reports, the streaming giant “reviews the returns and considers if the financial investment in another season will be valuable to its subscribers or if those funds would be better served with new content that draws more signups to its service.”

V-Wars starred Ian Somerholder (The Vampire Diaries) and Adrian Holmes and told of a virus released that turns people into murderous predators that feed on human blood – vampires. October Faction starred Tamara Taylor and J. C. MacKenzie and followed the adventures of a retired monster-hunter and his family.

A silver lining for Somerholder fans: THR’s sources claim that the actor is currently in talks with Netflix “about potential other projects.”
