You can’t hold Veronica Mars back.
After an original series that lasted three seasons from 2004 to ’07, followed by a Kickstarter-funded film in 2014, Kristen Bell is back as the titular sleuth in a fourth/potential revival mini-series heading to Hulu.
The first trailer has arrived for the new season, which picks up five years after the events in the film and finds Veronica investigating a series of bombings rocking Neptune. She is soon drawn into a mystery that involves a troubling plan by the enclave’s elite and some very deadly gangsters.
Returning cast members include Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Percy Daggs III and Francis Capra, with J. K. Simmons, Patton Oswalt, Clifton Collins Jr. and Mary McDonnell among the new faces.
Veronica Mars season 4 premieres on Hulu on July 26.
Official synopsis for Veronica Mars:
Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
