Marvel Studios has lined up the person that will be shepherding a series focusing on MCU heroes Vision and Scarlet Witch.
On the way to Disney’s highly anticipated streaming service Disney+ is The Vision and Scarlet Witch, and set as series showrunner is Captain Marvel co-writer Jac Schaeffer. As per THR, Schaeffer will be writing the show’s pilot and will be on board as executive producer. Schaeffer has become an integral part of the Marvel creative team; she’s also written the script for Black Widow, the long-gestating film that will give the spotlight to the MCU heroine played by Scarlett Johansson.
The series will find Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their big-screen roles as synthezoid Vision and Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, who have a love story unfolding in the MCU. No word as yet on when in the overall timeline this series will be set.
Marvel is to be a key part of the streaming service. Also on the way to Disney+ is a still-untitled Loki series, which will have Tom Hiddleston back as Thor’s adopted brother, and a series following Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). The Falcon and and Winter Soldier series will be written by Malcolm Spellman, known as a producer and writer on Fox series Empire.
