Take a look at the trailer that Lionsgate has dropped for Voyagers, an upcoming sci-fi film starring Tye Sheridan, Lily-Rose Depp, and Colin Farrell, among others.
Written and directed by Neil Burger (Limitless, The Illusionist, The Upside), Voyagers follows a group of young men and women who are sent to colonise a distant planet – with the future of the human race at stake. They soon uncover that the mission seemingly involves quite the experiment: placing them on drugs that make lose their inhibitions. As they defy their training and explore their primitive urges, everything on the ship descends to chaos.
Burger had an entertaining hit with his previous experimental drug tale, Limitless, which had Bradley Cooper popping pills to access 100% of his brain abilities. Heading to space with his next drug experiment? Count us intrigued. The trailer nicely teases the escalating insanity and shows off a dark tone that’s, well, kind of surprising for a film rated PG-13 (US classification). Either way, fingers crossed here.
Voyagers, also starring Chanté Adams, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Viveik Kalra, Archie Madekwe, Quintessa Swindell, and Madison Hu, will hit US cinemas on April 9th.
