“We just don’t know what to expect,” says Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch. Indeed, the trailers have thus far teased a trippy narrative that finds Wanda back together with Vision (Paul Bettany, also reprising his MCU role), who seemingly met his end in Avengers: Infinity War. They’re in sitcom-style worlds, complete with laugh tracks, ranging from television’s early black and white days, to the big hair days of the ’80s. But, of course, there are much bigger things at play, with supporting players such as Kathryn Hahn’s Agnes and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau showing strange… glitching?
We can’t wait to see what unfolds in Disney+’s first Marvel series. The streamer has a big year ahead in this department; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Ms Marvel and Hawkeye are among the other shows lined up for 2021.
Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, with all six episodes directed by Matt Shakman (The Boys, Game of Thrones, Succession), will premiere on Disney+ on January 15th.
