Warner Bros. has acquired a pitch based on an idea by Robert Downey Jr. Deadline is reporting that the project is titled Cloaked, and comes from Warners-based Team Downey producing partners Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey, with a script by screenwriter Derek Connolly.
While the plot of Cloaked is being kept safely under wraps, it has been revealed that the film will be “a supernatural horror comedy in the vein of An American Werewolf In London.” The Downeys developed the project with Connolly before taking it to Warner Bros., who obviously liked what they heard. It isn’t known at this time whether or not Downey Jr. will be starring in the film, but it’s a good possibility if his schedule allows.
Writer Connolly is certainly moving up the industry ladder fast. Jurrassic World and Monster Trucks, both co-written by Connolly, are currently in production.
Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and will be starring opposite Robert Duvall, Vincent D’Onofrio and Billy Bob Thornton in The Judge, which is the first Team Downey-produced picture under their first-look deal with Warner Bros.
