We have got the first 9 minutes of 12 Monkeys, Syfy’s upcoming series, right here for you to watch.
An adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s fantastic 1995 film, which was itself inspired by Chris Marker’s 1962 short film La Jetée, 12 Monkeys follows Aaron Stanford’s James Cole as he time-travels from 2043 to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race.
That trailer for the series didn’t provide too much confidence, but this decent bit of footage actually has us looking forward to seeing more. The pacing is relentless and the cliffhanger at the end of this clip does its job. It’s promising so far; fingers crossed the show actually delivers.
12 Monkeys premieres on Syfy January 16 (U.S. date) at 9 pm.
