This just in: Stephen Colbert is immune to Thanos’ finger snaps. Well, maybe it’s because the villain didn’t have the gauntlet.
It’s certainly a big year for Josh Brolin, who’s played two Marvel characters with supervillain Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Cable in Deadpool 2, and is reprising his role as agent Matt Graver in the soon-to-be-released sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado. They’re all big roles, but it’s arguably his turn in Infinity War that’s made the most waves, especially when you consider the huge impact the character has now had in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A powerful individual, doing what he wants, making highly questionable decisions, despite what everyone else thinks, some have compared Thanos to the current U.S. President. “Well, maybe the chin,” Brolin told Colbert on The Late Show, “because it looks like a ___ sack.”
Colbert proceeded to ask Brolin if he would be so kind as to read some of Trump’s infamous tweets in the voice of Thanos. Brolin obliged. If Thanos had Twitter, yeah, I can see it…
Check out the amusingly chaotic interview below. The Thanos tweet reading begins around the 10-minute mark.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado, also starring Benicio Del Toro, Isabela Monder, Catherine Keener, Jeffrey Donovan and Matthew Modine, will be opening in Australia on June 28 and hits the US on June 29.
