Take a look at Jude Law discussing some of his career’s biggest movies and most iconic roles.
Among the films the actor reminisced about for the GQ video: Contagion, a film that, unfortunately, worked as a sign of what’s to come and is now oh-so timely.
“There was absolutely the sense that this was going to happen,” Law says, talking about his experience making Steven Soderbergh’s 2011 picture. “The great scientists on set with us who had worked with Scott [Z. Burns] the writer and Steven [Soderbergh, director] were very learned and experienced individuals who knew what to expect. And they all said to us that this was going to happen — and it was a case of when rather than if.”

The actor says that the info he had gathered on a possible pandemic “scared the hell of out me” for around a year and a half, before life went on. And then, this year began.
“When 2020 started, and we heard about what was initially happening in China, what fast became apparent around the world, it rang alarm bells,” he said. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t hugely surprised.”
It’s an entertaining and informative watch for not only Law’s fans, but those that love some of the major works he’s been involved in. Apart from Contagion, Law also discusses Gattaca, Artificial Intelligence, The Road to Perdition, Cold Mountain, Closer, Fantastic Beasts, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Nest, as well as HBO series The Young Pope and The Third Day. And just a heads up: the clips chosen for Cold Mountain, Closer, and The Talented Mr. Ripley contain spoilers.
