If you’ve seen Deadpool, you’ll know that that Hugh Jackman/Wolverine is a target of the Merc’s jokes. Or should we say Ryan Reynolds’ jokes?
Like many of us, Reynolds/Deadpool hasn’t forgotten about the character’s embarrassing appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine — it was even brought up in a marketing piece directed at Australia. It’s all done playfully of course, with Reynolds more than happy to joke about his awful first round playing the Merc with a Mouth. And now, for the first time, Reynolds is interviewing Jackman.
Deadpool‘s relentless, genius marketing continues with Reynolds jumping on the press junket for Eddie the Eagle, the feel-good picture starring Jackman and Taron Egerton. The quick-but-fantastic marketing cross-over, although it’s really just for Deadpool, sees Reynolds slyly asking Jackman about certain creative decisions made in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and then getting him to deliver one of the classic Aussie lines delivered to film.
Now we just need to see this type of scenario with Reynolds and Jackman playing their respective characters.
