Wesley Snipes will be leading an upcoming NBC pilot titled Endgame, which comes from The Blacklist producers John Davis and John Fox.
Endgame will tell of a sniper-turned-security expert, to be played by Philip Winchester (Strike Back), that is pushed to complete a series of challenges in order to save innocent lives. It’s a little vague, but as THR reports, it’s all part of a “mysterious conspiracy.”
Snipes has been cast as Johnson, a mysterious and intelligent guy with a dry sense of humour. He’s the “pit boss for The Game,” keeping an eye on proceedings and swooping in to clean things up when they get out of control.
John Rogers, known for co-writing The Core, Catwoman (cough) and for developing and writing TNT’s The Librarians, has penned the screenplay. He’ll also be exec producing with Davis and Fox through Davis Entertainment.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Snipes back in the spotlight. The star of New Jack City, Passenger 57, Demolition Man, Money Train, and the Blade franchise, could have his first regular role on television if Endgame is picked up for series, and we’re kind of hoping that happens.
