Marvel has unveiled the official trailer for What If…? season 3, which will mark the final season of the animated series that imagines alternate takes on Marvel’s biggest stories. With Jeffrey Wright returning as The Watcher, the season will dive into scenarios that reimagine favourites like Captain America (Sam Wilson), The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes), and Bruce Banner’s Hulk in new and often surprising situations. This season also includes appearances by characters such as Captain Peggy Carter, Agatha Harkness, Shang-Chi, and, for the character’s first MCU appearance, even Storm re-envisioned as the Goddess of Thunder (complete with, as you can see in the trailer, the hammer Mjolnir).
Directors Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck, along with writers Matthew Chauncey, Ryan Little, and A.C. Bradley, take the reins for this season, crafting each episode to explore different genres and ideas across Marvel’s multiverse.
The final season of What If…? debuts on Disney+ on December 22, with new episodes arriving daily for eight days.
