Daniel Radcliffe as a rom-com lead? Check out the trailer for What If, a new romantic-comedy starring Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks). While Radcliffe and Kazan certainly seem to have chemistry and the film’s romantic tone is nicely delivered in the trailer, it does seem as though they’ve just copied the usual rom-com template here. The guy that doesn’t believe in love, the friendship between a guy and gal that may have sex work its way into the equation, the girl with a boyfriend – who has to go overseas. Is he running to the airport? Anyway, we could be overly critical here; early reviews are suggesting that this is actually quite good. Oh, and be warned that this trailer is the usual Hollywood marketing piece. Yep, it’s the whole film cut down to three minutes.
