The official teaser trailer has arrived for Wolf Man, the upcoming horror film from writer-director Leigh Whannell, the Aussie Saw co-creator and star whose directorial credits include Upgrade, Insidious Chapter 3, and The Invisible Man. Following in the steps of his latter hit, Whannell returns with a fresh take on another monster myth – this time, the werewolf, promising a dark and tense exploration of human transformation and survival.
The film stars Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, It Comes at Night) as Blake, a husband and father living in San Francisco. After the mysterious disappearance of his father, Blake inherits the family’s rural home in Oregon. Hoping to save his strained marriage, he convinces his wife Charlotte, played by Emmy-winner Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna), to join him for a getaway with their young daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth, Hullraisers, Coma).

What begins as an attempt to reconnect quickly turns into a nightmare when the family is attacked by an unseen animal on their arrival. The supporting cast includes Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama), and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).
Whannell wrote Wolf Man with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum (staff writer on Orange Is the New Black), and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money). Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse, serves as producer, with executive producers including Ryan Gosling (who was circling the lead role during an earlier iteration of the project), Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell.
Wolf Man will be released in Australian cinemas on January 16th and US cinemas on January 17th, 2025.
