Sony has dropped a bloody, claws-out Gameplay Trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine — Insomniac’s darker PS5-exclusive take on Logan. Watch the trailer above and read on for the essentials.
A Meaner Insomniac
More on Screen Realm:
This isn’t your friendly neighbourhood anything. Built as a third-person brawler, Wolverine leans into Logan’s “living weapon” reality: fast, ferocious combos, savage finishers, bursts of berserker momentum, and on-screen dismemberment.
It’s a standalone story (separate from Marvel films and comics), with Insomniac aiming for the “ultimate Wolverine fantasy” — their trademark snap and readability, but with claws instead of webs and robust accessibility features baked in.
Release window: Fall 2026 on PS5-only, with more shown in Spring 2026 (per PlayStation’s blog post).
Logan, Rebuilt — And Who He’s Up Against
Aussie actor Liam McIntyre (Spartacus, The Flash) voices Logan, tapping the rage and pain of a man hunting answers to a past that keeps slipping away. The trailer and PlayStation Blog flag classic headaches: the elusive Mystique, the brutish Omega Red, and the Reavers as an enemy faction. It closes on a prototype of an iconic, menacing purple Sentinel — a tidy hint at where the threat level’s heading.
A Global Stomp
Insomniac’s framing this as a “global thriller.” Expect perilous excursions through the island nation of Madripoor (keep an eye out for The Princess Bar), the frosted wilderness of Canada, and Tokyo’s tight backstreets — all pitched as battlegrounds for fierce, bloody, destructive action.
Bottom line: Insomniac’s bringing its set-piece swagger to a much gnarlier corner of the Marvel sandbox. Marvel’s Wolverine launches on PS5 in Fall 2026, with a deeper dive promised for Spring 2026.
