The cast being lined up for the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel continues to impress

Following the hiring of Kristen Wiig as the film’s villain, Cheetah, comes word that actor Pedro Pascal is also on board. Variety broke the news, reporting that Pascal has scored a “pivotal role,” although no details of who he’ll be playing have been unveiled.

This will reunite the actor with director Patty Jenkins, who directed Pascal in a little-seen 2015 TV movie titled Exposed.

Wonder Woman is arguably the finest film in DC‘s bumpy cinematic universe. The film drew an impressive $US821 million worldwide and was warmly received by critics. No pressure, sequel.

Wonder Woman 2, which will have Gal Gadot back as the Amazonian heroine, is scheduled to open in the U.S. on November 1, 2019.

Known for his roles in television (Game of Thrones, Graceland, The Mentalist, Narcos), Pascal has been making big moves on the big screen. Pascal starred alongside Matt Damon in 2016’s The Great Wall and played a key role in last year’s sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. In the pipeline for the actor: The Equalizer 2, with Denzel Washington back in the lead; a sci-fi thriller titled Prospect; and a role in Triple Frontier, a Netflix thriller also starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund. If Pascal ain’t a home-name star as yet, he certainly will be.
