Woody Harrelson & Mary Elizabeth Winstead to Star in Netflix Assassin Thriller

Three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson is joining Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a thriller heading to Netflix.

Harrelson and Winstead will be leading Kate, a thriller to be directed by The Huntsman: Winter’s War helmer Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. The screenplay comes from Umair Aleem, whose sole previous feature credit is 2015 Bruce Willis thriller Extraction.

The film follows a ruthless criminal operative who is irreversibly poisoned and has less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies. In the process, she forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.

Producing the film are Bryan Unkeless (Bright), Kelly McCormick (Deadpool 2) and Patrick Newall (The Old Man And The Gun), with Deadpool 2 director David Leitch executive producing with Scott Morgan.

Winstead, who was recently seen in Netflix anthology series Love, Death & Robots, is playing Huntress in DC movie Birds of Prey and will soon be seen opposite Will Smith in the Ang Lee-directed Gemini Man. Harrelson recently starred in Netflix film The Highwaymen and will soon be seen in the sequel Zombieland: Double Tap.
