Filmmaker Guy Ritchie reunites with screen badass Jason Statham, who he helped make a star in hit gangster films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Ritchie’s third Statham-led film was the less-than-well-received 2005 flick Revolver – and that was it for their collabs, until now.
The trailer has dropped for Wrath of Man, an action-thriller based on the 2004 French film Le Convoyeur, which starred Jean Dujardin (The Artist). Statham stars as H, a mysterious new cash truck security guard who surprises his co-workers during a heist. It turns out, this guy certainly knows the way of the gun. H’s true intentions become clear as he takes dramatic and irrevocable steps to settle a score: revenge for the murder of his son.
Scott Eastwood, Holt McCallany and Josh Hartnett also star in what look like a decent outing of Statham ass-kickery. Count me in.
Wrath of Man, also starring , Jeffrey Donovan, Laz Alonzo, Raúl Castillo, Deobia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Post Malone (who may not be in it for long), opens in Australian cinemas on April 29th and US cinemas on May 7th.
