Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope hit the World Wide Web in Disney’s upcoming sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.
The first film’s director Rich Moore, co-writer Phil Johnson, and producer Clark Spencer return for what looks like a fun sequel, which finds our game characters traversing the net on a mission to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. There’s a nice amount of new footage to enjoy in the new trailer, in particular a scene that finds Vanellope meeting a number of Disney’s beloved princess characters, from Elsa to Pocahontas.
It’ll be interesting to see how the sequel balances its bombardment of pop culture references. The first film scattered gaming nods nicely through a heart-felt narrative, while films like The Emoji Movie showcased just how not to do it. With the first film’s creatives back on board, it’s likely we’re in for a solid follow-up. Fingers crossed.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-Ralph 2 will be hitting US theaters on November 21 and arrives in Australia on December 26.
