‘Wrong Turn’ Trailer: The Woods Are Still Dangerous AF in Horror Reboot

Check out the trailer that’s arrived for Wrong Turn, a reboot of the horror franchise that kicked off with Eliza Dushku in 2003 and spawned five follow-ups.

Another group of young people are in for a very, very bad time in the woods. This “reimagining” follows Jen (Charlotte Vega) and her buddies as they set out to hike on the Appalachian Trail. Of course, they go off course, and proceed to meet some of the mountain dwellers that go by “The Foundation.” Matthew Modine plays Jen’s dad, who may be their only hope.

The film is directed by Mike P. Nelson, who previously directed Kate Bosworth horror-thriller The Domestics. Franchise creator Alan B. McElroy has written the screenplay.

The franchise certainly has its fans, and the films have done well enough to warrant more and more entries. As someone that found the first film okay and surprisingly enjoyed the trashiness of 2 and 3 (and stopped there), I found the trailer below surprisingly solid. Fingers crossed for a tense-as-hell outing with, of course, more creatively gnarly deaths.

Wrong Turn, also starring Adain Bradley, Bill Sage, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, and Tim DeZarn, will be hitting select US cinemas for one night: January 26th, 2021.
