The first teaser trailer has arrived for Wuthering Heights, Emerald Fennell’s new take on Emily Brontë’s classic 1847 novel, with Aussie stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as leads. Watch the trailer above and read on for the info.
The story & cast
The story follows the wealthy Catherine Earnshaw (Robbie) and the orphaned Heathcliff (Elordi). It’s a destructive pairing that drags in two families — the Earnshaws and the Lintons — with class and revenge never far away.
More on Screen Realm:
Apart from Robbie and Elordi, the cast also includes Hong Chau, Martin Clunes, and Adolescence breakout Owen Cooper.
The teaser
The teaser leans into tension: lingering looks, corsets pulled tight, and hands kneading bread and cracking eggs with intent. Elordi toils on the moors — the “drive me mad” tagline flashes up — and it’s clear we’re in for a provocative, more openly erotic read on Brontë. “Do you want me to stop?” Heathcliff asks Catherine. “No,” she responds.
Behind the scenes & release date
It’s looking like another buzzy film from Fennell, who got people talking with her previous two features: Promising Young Woman (produced by Robbie) and Saltburn (which also starred Elordi). Warner Bros. won a bidding contest for this project after Netflix considered committing around US$150 million, as reported by Deadline last October. Warner Bros. reportedly offered around half that, but beat Netflix with the promise of a global theatrical release.
The film features original songs by Charli XCX and a score by Anthony Willis. Fennell reunites with Oscar-winning cinematographer Linus Sandgren (Saltburn, La La Land) as well as production designer Suzie Davies (Saltburn, Conclave).
Wuthering Heights is scheduled to hit cinemas on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026.
