Lara Jean Returns for a Covey Sisters Reunion
One of the biggest hooks in the new trailer is the return of Lana Condor as Lara Jean Covey, bringing the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before connection back into the spotlight in a big way. In the footage, Kitty reaches out to her older sister for guidance, and Lara Jean offers a line that points to the emotional turns ahead this season: “We have to follow our hearts and trust that it will lead us to our next great adventure.”
Condor will appear in multiple episodes, and her return adds another layer of warmth for fans who have followed this franchise from the beginning. Speaking to Netflix site Tudum, Condor said, “It’s such a joy to be able to come back and see Anna. I think she did an amazing job creating the XO, Kitty world. It’s such a dream to be able to work with her again. I feel really excited and happy and honored I get to be back.”
Kitty may have grown into her own lead, but bringing Lara Jean into this chapter gives season 3 a little extra heart.
Kitty’s Senior Year Brings Romance, Plans, and More Complications
According to the official season synopsis, Kitty returns to KISS with the “perfect year” laid out in her head. Alongside the usual hopes of making lasting memories and getting closer to her Korean relatives, she is also planning to finally define her relationship with Min Ho “for real this time.”
That alone is enough to get longtime viewers invested, especially after season 2 left their slow-burn dynamic simmering heading into the summer break. Kitty had already reunited parts of her fractured family and secured her scholarship renewal, setting the stage for a final year that should have felt a little more stable. Naturally, the new season is not interested in making things easy.
The trailer leans into that uncertainty, teasing more emotional confusion, shifting relationships, and more of the romantic turbulence the show is known for. Kitty might be trying to stay in control, but season 3 looks set to show how quickly Kitty’s plans can unravel when emotions and new revelations get in the way.
Returning Cast and New Faces
Cathcart leads a returning ensemble that includes Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Anthony Keyvan, Regan Aliyah, Hojo Shin, Peter Thurnwald, Joshua Lee, Sasha Bhasin, Michael K. Lee, Philippe Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo, Han Bi Ryu, and Sunny Oh. Hojo Shin, who plays Kitty’s cousin Jiwon, has also been promoted to series regular for the new season.
Season 3 will also introduce several new faces, with Sule Thelwell joining as Marius, Soy Kim as Yisoo, and Christine Hwang as Gigi. Behind the scenes, the series continues its connection to Jenny Han’s beloved franchise, with Valentina Garza serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
