A surprising amount of character posters have been released for xXx: Return of Xander Cage, the third film in the action franchise that began around 14 years ago.

Vin Diesel reprises his role as the titular extreme sports-ready ass-kicker in a follow-up that places the focus on an ensemble. As you can see below, there’s quite a large cast getting in on the action for chapter three, including Donnie Yen, Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev, and Aussies Toni Collette and Ruby Rose. Samuel L. Jackson is also back as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons, although he doesn’t have his own poster – as yet.

The threequel finds Cage coming out of exile to take on Xiang (Yen), a deadly alpha warrior after an unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage, also starring Kris Wu, Rory McCann, Deepika Padukone, Michael Bisping, Neymar Jr. and Tony Jaa, arrives in Australian cinemas on January 19 and hits the US on January 20.

Synopsis for xXx: Return of Xander Cage:

The third explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments. Packed with the series’ signature deadpan wit and bad-ass attitude, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will raise the bar on extreme action with some of the most mind-blowing stunts to ever be caught on film.
