Zendaya will be starring in an HBO high school drama series titled Euphoria, and music artist Drake is on board as executive producer.
Based on the Israeli series of the same, Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship. Zendaya is in the lead role, playing the character of Rue, with a supporting cast that includes Maude Apatow, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney.
Drake of course had a role in another high school drama series before his music career took off: Degrassi: The Next Generation, where he played Jimmy Brooks.

Writing everr episode is Sam Levinson, who co-wrote 2017 HBO movie The Wizard of Lies (starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer) and whose buzzy sophomore writing-directing feature effort Assassination Nation recently made a splash at Sundance.
Levinson is also on board as executive producer, alongside an EP team that includes Future the Prince (Drakes’ DJ and manger), original series creators Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, as well as Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokadi, and Gary Lennon.
