Netflix film All Quiet on the Western Front was the film of the night at the 2023 BAFTA Awards (British Academy Film Awards), the German and French-language anti-war drama picking up a whopping seven wins, including Best Film and Best Film Not in the English Language.
Best Actress went to Australian star Cate Blanchett, scoring for her phenomenal performance in Todd Field’s Tár. Best Actor was handed to Austin Butler, winning for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
Among the other big winners: The Banshees of Inisherin for Best British Film, Everything Everywhere All At Once for Best Editing, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio for Best Animated Film, and Avatar: The Way of Water for Best Special Visual Effects.
