A gnarly, old-school red band trailer has arrived for upcoming horror film Children of the Corn, the eleventh film in the overall franchise that kicked off with the 1984 picture of the same name.

Based on a short story by author Stephen King, the new Children of the Corn tells of a twelve-year-old girl in Nebraska who is possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield. A bloody rampage unfolds when the girl recruits the other children in her small town to kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.

This one is directed and written by Kurt Wimmer, delivering his first film in seventeen years following Milla Jovovich-starring bomb Ultraviolet (2006). Wimmer’s credits include Christian Bale-starring cult film Equilibrium (2002) and Brian Bosworth-starring actioner One Tough Bastard (1996).

The film was shot around NSW, Australia in 2020, with a corn field grown in Richmond to simulate rural America.

Children of the Corn, starring Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey, and Bruce Spence, will be opening in U.S. cinemas on March 3rd and then released on horror streamer Shudder on March 21st.
