First ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Trailer: A Nose Ring, a Ceiling Fan, and Certain Death

Death… finds a way. The teaser trailer has arrived for Final Destination: Bloodlines, the franchise’s sixth instalment and its first since 2011’s Final Destination 5. Take a look above.

The teaser for the upcoming horror film locks in on a single, doomed scene. This time, a tattooist (played by Richard Harmon, The 100) is the unfortunate soul marked for death. As he works in his parlour, a number of innocuous but potentially deadly objects linger – his nose ring, a ceiling fan, hanging chains, and more. It’s a familiar Final Destination setup: everything in sight looks like it could play a role in his demise, and whether the audience guesses right or not, Death will always collect.

There’s also a nod to the film’s “bloodlines” concept, as our target looks at a photo of his father on his phone before tattooing “dad” on his arm. The tagline on the film’s first poster below: “Death runs in the family.”

This latest entry in the long-running horror series takes things back to the beginning, exploring the roots of Death’s system. The plot this time around follows a college student, Stefanie (Kaitlyn Santa Juana, The Flash series), who’s plagued by violent, recurring nightmares. Convinced they’re more than just bad dreams, she heads home to find the one person who might be able to help—before her family becomes the next in a long line of victims.

Joining Santa Juana in the cast are Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt, Brec Bassinger, and a familiar face to franchise fans – the late Tony Todd, reprising his role as Bludworth.

The film is directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, the duo behind 2018 film Freaks. The screenplay comes from Guy Busick (2022’s Scream, Ready or Not) and Lori Evans Taylor (Cellar Door).

For those eager to watch fate unfold in all its gruesome precision, Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to hit Australian cinemas on 15 May and by U.S. cinemas on 16 May.
