Take a look at the official trailer that’s been released for Flux Gourmet, a bizarre-looking, pitch-black comedy from writer-director Peter Strickland, whose previous credits include evil dress movie In Fabric (2018), erotic drama The Duke of Burgundy (2014), and psychological horror Berberian Sound Studio (2012).
Fans of Strickland’s unique cinematic sensibilities look to be in for quite the tasty treat, so to speak, with this surreal pic, while newcomers should likely have their “what the?!”s at the ready. The film is set at an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance and follows a collective who find themselves embroiled in power struggles, artistic vendettas and… gastrointestinal disorders. Yep.
The cast includes Asa Butterfield (Sex Education), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Ariane Labed (The Souvenir), Fatma Mohamed (In Fabric), and Makis Papadimitrou (Suntan).
Flux Gourmet will be released in select U.S. cinemas and On Demand on June 24th.
