Watch the trailer above for above for the sci-fi drama Foe, starring Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Aaron Pierre.

Described as “a haunting exploration of marriage and identity set in an uncertain world,” the film follows Hen (Ronan) and Junior (Mescal), a married couple living in a secluded farm in the not-too-distant-future. Their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger (Pierre) shows up at their door with a startling proposal: Junior will be sent to a large space station, and his wife will be left in the company of someone else.

The film is directed by Australian filmmaker Garth Davis, who previously helmed Lion (2016) and Mary Magdalene (2018). David co-wrote the screenplay with author Iain Reid, based on Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. Production took place in Victoria and South Australia.

Foe will be release in U.S. cinemas on October 6th and Australian cinemas on October 19th.
