Following the teaser trailer released back in September, Netflix has finally unveiled the official trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the star-studded sequel to the 2019 whodunit hit from filmmaker Rhian Johnson.
Daniel Craig returns as keen-eyed master detective Benoit Blanc, who finds himself in Greece this time, once again facing a deadly mystery involving an array of colourful suspects. Quite the cast here, including Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.
“We had such an amazing cast in the last one and I didn’t know how we were going to top that, but we’ve equaled it,” Craig told Netflix. “The working experience, just to come on set and make these movies is such fun.”
Said Johnson, who both directed and wrote the film’s screenplay: “The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember first and foremost that you’re making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle. That’s actually still the hard part – creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end.”
Very positive reviews for this one so far (a massive 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, for example, at the time writing). Watch out for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to hit select U.S. and Australian cinema on November 23, before it begins streaming worldwide on Netflix from December 23.
