Tom Cruise’s latest vehicle is a decent little thriller based on Lee Child’s bestselling novel One Shot. There’s a solid cast that keeps the tight, yet increasingly farfetched, storyline grounded and believable. The film may have benefited from some further character development but Christopher McQuarrie’s intriguing screenplay and good direction make for a solid film. A highlight is the nifty car chase at the center of the film that has Tom Cruise doing his own stunt driving.
