Hot on the heels of the critical and award-grabbing success of Poor Things, which earned Emma Stone her second Oscar, filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) is already back with another star-studded, intriguing-looking film. Take a look above at the teaser trailer for Kinds of Kindness, starring Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Jesse Plemons.
Described as a “triptych fable,” the film follows three characters: a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
Lanthimos directs Kinds of Kindness from a screenplay he penned with longtime collaborator Efthimis Filippou (Dogtooth, The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer). Producers include Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element, Kasia Malipan, and Lanthimos.
The cast includes Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
Kinds of Kindness will be in US cinemas on June 21st and Australian cinemas on July 11th.
