Everything Everywhere All at Once was the film of the night at the 2023 Oscars, taking home seven wins including Best Picture.
Apart from winning Best Picture Oscars, Everything Everywhere All at Once directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (collectively known as The Daniels) also earned Best Director and Best Original Screenplay wins at the 95th Academy Awards. Plus, the film scored three of the four acting nominations: Michelle Yeoh for Best Actress, Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Best Supporting Actress.
Brendan Fraser’s comeback culminated in a huge way: a Best Actor win for his performance in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale. The drama also took home Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Netflix war drama All Quiet on the Western Front took home the second-highest number of wins, winning four including Best International Film.
Among the others winners: Sarah Polley winning Best Adapted Screenplay for Women Talking, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio for Best Animated Feature, Avatar: The Way of Water for Best Visual Effects, and All Quiet on the Western Front cinematographer James Best for Best Cinematography.
