The official trailer has arrived for upcoming Apple TV+ series Shining Girls, starring Elisabeth Moss, Wagner Moura, Amy Brenneman and Jamie Bell.

The series is based on Lauren Beukes’ best-selling novel of the same name and has Moss playing a newspaper archivist whose life took a turn after a brutal attack. With a constantly shifting reality, she learns that a recent murder is connected to her assault. She teams up with a veteran reporter (Moura) to look into who is behind this brutality – and what is exactly is going on.

An intriguing, tense trailer below, showing off a balance of investigative thriller, serial killer horror, and even time travel. A strong cast to top it all off? Yeah, sign me up.

Shining Girls was written by Silka Luisa, who also serves as producer. Moss, also among an executive producing team that includes Leonardo DiCaprio (whose production company Appian Way is behind the series), directs two episodes of the eight-ep series, with Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones) directing two and Daina Reid (The Handmaid’s Tale) directing four.

Watch out for Shining Girls to premiere on Apple TV+ on April 29th.
